Beyond Concrete and Canopy

Join Braden Glasgow, project manager at Kent Design Build, for a progress update that was documented a few months back at BlueSky, a gas station/car wash project, in McComb, Mississippi!

The BlueSky project has made significant strides with the construction of the gas station's fuel system, fuel canopy, and intricate underground work for the fuel tank portion. The project demanded a comprehensive electrical setup, connecting the gas station to the underground fuel system with precision.

In the convenience store segment, emphasis was placed on natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The storefront has been built having a spacious shopping area with a back space dedicated to coolers, featuring a walk-in beer cave, coffee bar, and fountain drink machines. The interior has now been adorned with both floor and wall tiles, and a specialized CMU room designated for barbecue and chicken smoking, serving as the centralized hub for all food-related equipment.

Looking at the car wash section of the project, an office area was included to facilitate sales and memberships, complete with a manager's office and bathroom. The car wash tunnel stands as a marvel of engineering, featuring PVC paneling and a central trench. Meticulous coordination was applied to plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring seamless functionality. Precision concrete slopes in the tunnel, trench, and entrance/exit were made to direct water flow efficiently, guaranteeing it funnels back to the trench connected to the reclaim system in the parking lot. An equipment room was constructed housing behind the scenes yet essential components, including high-pressure hydraulic lines and soap dispensers, to ensure the car wash operates smoothly.

We look forward to sharing the completed BlueSky project with you soon!
