Ochsner Distributor’s Row Medical Warehouse Supply

This design-build project involved the comprehensiverenovation of a 27,500 square-foot warehouse, transforming it from a conventional storage facility into a high-efficiency medical supply distribution center with integrated office spaces. The original structure lacked organized storage solutions, climate control, and proper insulation, presenting significant operational challenges.

A key aspect of the project involved tailoring the storage infrastructure to integrate seamlessly with the owner's existing lift trucks and material handling equipment, ensuring maximum storage capacity and accessibility throughout the facility. The renovated warehouse currently facilitates the daily handling of 13-17 truckloads of incoming and outgoing materials.

Given the sensitive nature of the stored medical supplies, maintaining stable environmental conditions was paramount. This was achieved through the installation of nine dedicated air conditioning units and two outside air units, ensuring precise temperature control and pressurization of the space. The building envelope was further enhanced with closed-cell foam insulation and a new MR24 Butler Metal Roof.

The project also included the development of essential support spaces, such as a breakroom, a collaborative group work area, a staff restroom, a dedicated IT/security closet, and a manager's office, creating a fully functional and ergonomic environment.
