The Chapel

The Chapel at First Baptist Church in Covington, LA, is a comprehensive design-build project completed to serve both the church congregation and the wider community.

Spanning over two years in planning, design, and construction, the project meticulously addressed every detail, from preserving the existing site and integrating modern code requirements to creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional space.

The chapel's design incorporates traditional architectural elements, utilizing antique-formed materials and ample natural light. Notable features include radius timber trusses, a 3-inch exposed tongue-and-groove roof deck, a synthetic slate roof, and custom 11-foot-tall walnut and mahogany entry doors. Externally, the chapel features a 55-foot bell tower with bronze bells, peaceful prayer gardens, and various water features.
