Kent Design Build was selected through a competitive bid process to construct a comprehensive fuel and convenience retail facility for Craddock Oil, a company operating 48 convenience stores and fuel locations throughout Mississippi. This project, located on a 2.6-acre site, represented a significant milestone for Craddock Oil as it marked their first venture incorporating a tunnel car wash alongside a BlueSky Convenience Store and Subway restaurant.
The project involved the ground-up construction of a 7,500 SF convenience store and Subway facility, integrated with a 4,400 SF tunnel carwash on the same site. Both structures feature a robust construction combining structural steel and wood trusses. Architecturally, the building shells boast a brick wainscot with a stucco finish, complemented by ACM panel fascia and LED eyebrow lighting. Interior spaces are appointed with ceramic floor and wall tile, and an exposed wood truss/tongue & groove ceiling.
A key aspect of this project was the simultaneous construction of both the tunnel car wash and the convenience store building, demonstrating Kent Design Build's ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects. The site infrastructure included the installation of two 20,000-gallon fuel tanks beneath heavy-duty concrete paving (6" and 8" thickness). Additionally, a standalone fuel canopy was erected, supporting 20 fuel pumps installed on stainless steel island forms.
