A new 37,000 SF pre-engineered facility by Butler Manufacturing was recently completed for a valued repeat client. This project, the third showroom constructed for this client, features 30,000 square feet for furniture and mattress displays, 2,000 square feet of office space, and a 5,000 square-foot warehouse.

Using design-build expertise in collaboration with Crump Wilson Architects, this project was delivered on a fast-tracked five-month schedule. This accelerated delivery enabled the client to achieve their target opening date and maximize revenue opportunities. To ensure this expedited timeframe, the pre-engineered building structure was ordered eight weeks before construction began. The facility includes an MR-24 standing seam roofing system, Butler Rib metal wall panels, a facade with stucco, an aluminum storefront system, and stone veneer, painted exposed decking, a ductless HVAC system, and stained concrete floors.

A key lesson learned during this project involved the importance of early and thorough coordination of the final furniture and fixture plan for furniture showrooms. This detailed plan is crucial for accurate placement of electrical floor boxes before the slab-on-grade is poured, strategic location of lighting fixtures prior to overhead rough-ins, and precise definition of floor finishes within different furniture settings.
