This 87,000-square-foot industrial facility in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, is expected to create 80 to 100 new jobs, helping to bolster the regional workforce and support future development.
A Purpose-Built Facility for Fireproofing Operations
The Southland Industrial Coatings facility was designed with precision and purpose. The building features:
7,000 square feet of administrative office space
80,000 square feet of specialized warehouse space
Integrated systems to support intumescent coating applications on structural steel
Southland’s fireproofing process requires meticulous coordination, and this facility was engineered to support every step, efficiently and durably.
Engineered for Performance and Productivity
To optimize operations, the warehouse includes:
Two 3,200 sq. ft. sandblasting bays
Six 10-ton overhead cranes
A pre-engineered Butler metal building, installed by our sister company, Gulf South Metal Works
Twelve 20-ton rooftop units and 16 exhaust fans for climate and moisture control
Motion-sensor LED lighting for improved energy efficiency
These features are essential for maintaining environmental control and workflow within a high-performance industrial setting.
Overcoming Site Challenges with Expertise
Construction at this site required more than 100,000 cubic yards of fill to prepare the building pad—a significant earthwork challenge. Additionally, the team faced over 56 inches of rainfall and six inches of snow during the project timeline.
