The Zuppardo’s Family Supermarket // 48,511 SqFt // Store Addition

The Zuppardo’s Family Supermarket is located on Veteran’s Blvd in Metairie, LA near one of the busiest intersections in Louisiana. This is the 3rd project for the Zuppardo Family and we were keenly aware that the existing store would sell groceries while the new store was built adjacent to the existing store with minimal interruption.

The construction activities were sequenced to allow traffic into and through the site while demolition of a portion of the existing store was completed to make way for the new store. Although the site is over 3 acres, the laydown area was limited to the footprint of the new building which meant deliveries were planned and coordinated to not affect parking for the store’s customers. As the work in the interior of the store commenced our team regularly met with the Owner’s consultants and vendors to coordinate rough ins and the installation of refrigeration, food display cases, and kitchen equipment.

Groundbreaking for this project occurred in September 2018 and the keys were handed over to the Zuppardo Family just as the 2019 holiday season approached.
